Shell Seedai

Shell Seedai (Spiced Gavvalu/Cheepappom). I remembered this famous tongue twister "She sells sea-shells in the shore" as and when I saw this. This seedai has attractive shape and taste. My Andhra friend, N made this for the Get to-gether we had recently. Thanks N for the recipe.
Ingredients:
Rice flour - 2 cup
Urad flour - 1/2 cup
Butter - 4 tsp
Grated coconut - ¼ cup
Asafoedita - ¼ tsp
Salt - to taste
Chilli powder - 1 tbsp
Oil - to fry
Water - to knead
New Unused Comb/Wooden Shell Maker - 1

Method:
1. Mix rice flour, urad dal flour, salt, butter, asafoedita, chilli powder, coconut to make crumbles.
2. Gradually add water and knead to make dough.
3. Make small balls.
4. Press these balls in comb/wooden shell maker downwards to make shells.
5. In a pan, heat oil in medium flame and fry the shells till they turn light golden brown.
6. Cool and store in an air tight container.

PS:
You can use narrow spaced comb/fork to make shells if you don't have wooden shell maker.
