Arisiparruppu Sadam

Ingredients:
Rice - 1 cup
Toor dhal - 1/2 cup
Cloves - 2
Cinnamon stick - 1
Garlic - 2 pods
Cumin seeds - 2 tsp
Red chilli - 2
Tomato - 1
Grated coconut - 2 tsp
Curry Leaves - few
Coriander Leaves - few
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
Urad dal - 1/4 tsp
Channa dal - 1/4 tsp
Small onions - 10
Oil - 2 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt - to taste
Water - 3.75 cups

Method:
1. If the toor dhal type takes long to get cooked, half-cook it.
2. Grind Cloves, Cinnamon stick, Garlic, Cumin seeds, Red chilli, Tomato, Shredded coconut, Curry leaves to a coarse paste.
3. In cooker, heat oil and splutter mustard seeds.
4. Add onions, turmeric powder, salt and saute for a minute.
5. Add the ground paste and saute it till the raw smell goes.
6. Add the soaked rice, water, salt and dhal. Pressure cook it until done.
